Guilford County Board of Commissioners Chairman Melvin “Skip” Alston called a meeting Monday afternoon of local health and city leaders to discuss a possible countywide mask mandate and potentially requiring at least county employees to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

Clearly, a Democratic decision that will hurt business owners in Guilford County. This unnecessary mask mandate will NOT slow the spread at all. Those who are vaccinated should not be required to wear a mask again. #NoMaskMandate

Republicans Justin Conrad and Alan Perdue are the ONLY two on this Board that sees the #Truth and voted NO!

Board members had a variety of questions but several asked Campbell or Vann to repeat portions of their presentations to make it fully clear why the county needs the mandate.

Conrad said one of his constituents who is vaccinated questioned why he needed to wear a mask again.
