Just a Reminder/Taxes

In case you were not aware..
As a brief reminder for those who forgot or for many that didn’t know.

taxHere is what happened, quietly, on January 1, 2015:
Medicare tax went from 1.45% to 2.35%
Top Income tax bracket went from 35% to 39.6%
Top Income payroll tax went from 37.4% to 52.2%
Capital Gains tax went from 15% to 28%
Dividend tax went from 15% to 39.6%
Estate tax went from 0% to 55%
A 3.5% Real Estate transaction tax was added.

Remember this fact: These taxes were all passed solely with Democrat votes, Not a single Republican voted for these new taxes.

These taxes were all passed AUTOMATICALLY in the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.

If you think that it is important that everyone in the U.S. should know this, the many millions who don’t yet, then pass it on.

Obama on Monday proposed a $3.99 trillion budget for fiscal year 2016

President Barack Obama on Monday proposed a $3.99 trillion budget for fiscal year 2016 that sets up a battle with Republicans over programs to boost the middle class that are funded by higher taxes on corporations and wealthy Americans.

The budget foresees a $474 billion deficit, which is 2.5 percent of U.S. gross domestic product. It projects deficits stabilizing at that rate over a 10-year period, senior administration officials said.

Obama’s budget fleshes out proposals from his State of the Union address and helps highlight Democratic priorities for the last quarter of his presidency and the beginning of the 2016 presidential campaign.

But it is as much a political document as a fiscal road map and would require approval from the Republican-controlled Congress to go into effect.

“Our hope is that by laying out … a clear economic vision centered around the middle class and economic growth, that we’ll be able to have a productive conversation (with Republicans) and make progress over the course of the year,” an administration official said on Sunday, previewing the budget’s release.

Republicans have said they see room for compromise in areas such as tax reform and infrastructure, but many of Obama’s programs, which were rolled out in the weeks before the budget’s release, have landed with a thud.

“When … he devotes his time and energy to talking about the new tax-and-spend policies that progressives like and Republicans universally oppose, he signals to Congress that he is once again looking to argue rather than to legislate,” said Keith Hennessey, a former economic adviser to Republican President George W. Bush.

Democrats, however, viewed the budget as a statement of their priorities and a chance to demonstrate they represent the party that champions middle-income Americans.

“(It) affords him an opportunity to contrast his vision of helping the middle class with the Republican Congress’ approach of exacerbating inequality, ignoring the middle class and making the burdens of those who want to enter it even greater,” said Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress, which has close ties to the White House.

INFRASTRUCTURE, TAX REFORM

The budget achieves some $1.8 trillion in deficit reduction over the next 10 years, officials said, through healthcare, tax and immigration reform, but the forecast assumes Republican support for Obama’s programs, which is unlikely.

Republicans have blocked immigration reform legislation in the House of Representatives, for example, and the budget assumes passage of such a bill.

The administration foresees a continuation of the decline in unemployment, forecasting a rate of 5.4 percent in 2015. The rate currently stands at 5.6 percent.

It also proposes a new infrastructure bank, a 6 percent increase in research and development, and a controversial consolidation of U.S. government agencies. Obama has previously proposed combining trade agencies, but the proposal fizzled.

The budget sets aside $14 billion to strengthen U.S. cybersecurity defenses after a spate of high-profile hackings.

It calls for a one-time, 14 percent tax on an estimated $2.1 trillion in profits piled up abroad by companies such as General Electric (GE.N) and Microsoft (MSFT.O), while imposing a 19 percent tax on U.S. companies’ future foreign earnings.

It proposes a 7 percent rise in U.S. domestic and military spending, ending “sequester” caps with reforms to crop insurance programs and closing tax loopholes such as one on “carried interest.” Those moves would help fund investments in infrastructure and education.

The budget would also reform rules governing trust funds and raise the capital gains and dividend rates to 28 percent from the current top rates of 23.8 percent.

In foreign policy, the budget funds efforts to defeat Islamic State militants and support NATO and European allies against Russian aggression, the White House said.

Say NO to higher taxes that hurt Americans

Tell Lawmakers: Don’t Tax Away U.S. Jobs!

Say No To Higher Taxes

Congress and the Obama Administration are considering new taxes and regulations on the energy industry. Raising taxes on the oil and natural gas industry could increase the cost of energy for American families and businesses. Washington D.C. must not put millions of jobs like ours at risk. Click here to sign our pledge

With high unemployment still stifling our economic recovery, a tax proposal that threatens jobs is the wrong choice for America. This could force employers to lay off workers, reduce salaries, stop funding retirement programs or postpone investment in their businesses. Click here to sign our pledge to oppose the tax proposal!

National debt has doubled from $8.3 trillion to $16.7 trillion with the majority of that growth falling under Obama’s failed leadership

In 2006, then-Senator Obama voted against raising the debt ceiling saying “raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure.” Today, President Obama is calling on Republicans to do just that without any reforms to fix our nation’s addiction to spending. I’m sure President Obama is hoping you had forgotten his words from 2006. But we didn’t and neither should you. Since 2006, our national debt has doubled from $8.3 trillion to $16.7 trillion with the majority of that growth falling under President Obama’s failed leadership. Today, House Republicans are leading the fight to defeat ObamaCare, rein in runaway spending in Washington, and end the Democrat government shutdown. As conservatives, you and I know we can’t afford to continue down this reckless path. But President Obama and Congressional Democrats don’t want to listen to the truth, so they’re refusing to negotiate. It’s time to speak up. President Obama and Harry Reid can only ignore us if we let them.

Sign our petition today and tell House Republicans to continue to stand strong for our conservative principles.

Demand Accountability

GOP

It has been a terrible week for President Obama. As we learn more about the Benghazi falsehoods, illegal IRS investigations, and spying on the media, it is clear the Obama Administration has gone rogue. We cannot stand idly by while this Administration ignores the rule of law. Republicans in Congress are working hard to find answers, but we need your help.

Sign the petition and demand accountability from President Obama and his Administration.

A 31 year old video clip ABSOLUTELY worth your time

This is Phil Donahue interviewing Milton Friedman thirty years ago.

These are the simple facts of human nature. If people don’t have free rides to lives of sedentary consumption, they have to earn their livings. To earn a living you need to produce value to others that creates a surplus for you to supply your own means to survival. You produce with your labor and/or with your brain. To the degree that you produce more than similar others (now your Global friends and neighbors) your rewards grow at a greater rate. Some people are bigger and stronger than others, so if society values and rewards those skills above others these people have an advantage. Good or bad, it is simply a fact. Since not everyone can be bigger and stronger, the mind is the equalizer. If you educate your mind continuously you will learn other skills or invent things of value. Working smarter and harder is a good combination for you to create more than enough to sustain yourself and allows you to help and/or employ others so they can produce more than they consume. This is only possible in a democratic, free-enterprise society. History shows that socialist or communist societies are created and can only exist by taking the surplus developed through free enterprise, but since such societies under produce for what they consume they fail. Such is the case when the Federal Government of a Free Enterprise Society takes increasingly more from it’s peoples’ productivity and spends it without reasonable controls. Federal Governments produce no surplus for its people, in fact it does not produce anything but expense. That is what we are living through in our own Country. Somewhere along the line, the government lost site of its role, spent more money than its people could produce, then blamed the problem on its people.

Obamaville Song for 2013

A funny song sung to the tune of Margaritaville and inspired by Rush Limbaugh. This parody has original lyrics by Rick White and sung by Jack Anderson. Both of Charleston, West Virginia. When the most under qualified person to be nominated for the office in modern history wins election and the most manifestly inept person to hold the office gets reelected then yes, the world (or at least the country) seems to have gone insane.

This song is more than true…for millions of sucker Americans…who will soon loose any & all assistance from the government. While they wait for you to beg for their fema camp imprisonments. Along with an ID chip with all your info and a single dose of cyanide poison they can activate to kill you at their will! … Things are not good in America… most are asleep to what is going on around us. Stand up for your country, we need to put the breaks on this out of control strange evil government!

Where are those ObamaCare premium price cuts?

Want to know how to tell you’re going to have a bad day in Washington? A man walks up to you and says, “Hi, I’m Jason Mattera, and I want to ask you a question.” Actually, since Jason is a friend of mine, that would be a good day for me, but not so much for politicians. Jason, the senior investigative reporter for Talk Radio Network and a New York Times best-selling author, gave Hot Air an exclusive first look at his latest video produced for the Andrea Tantaros Show, which features Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) attempting to walk away from a good question — whatever happened to those health-care premiums price cuts Barack Obama and Democrats promised when they passed ObamaCare three years ago?

McDermott’s answer is priceless:

“Who’s paying you? The cock brothers?” Er, that’s Koch brothers, as Jason corrects McDermott. McDermott tries to first walk away from Jason, but then later engages him by arguing that all other Western nations have national health-insurance management. “Every industrialized country in the world takes care of its people,” McDermott replied, which doesn’t actually answer Jason’s original question but does address his follow-up. Why not just turn around and offer the answer in the first place? Probably because there is no good answer, as premiums spike upward and the promise to bend cost curves downward turn out to be empty.

The only politician who ever actually used the right approach to Jason was Al Franken, who is otherwise well known for refusing to engage with any reporter not from Minnesota. Whether one agrees with Franken or not, he was smart enough to challenge Jason right back.
