To be blunt, I believe President Obama has broken his most important promise yet: to lead “the most transparent administration in history.” From ObamaCare to Benghazi, from the IRS scandal to the Fast and Furious scandal, the Obama Administration has continually thwarted congressional oversight and denied the American people the answers they deserve. The Obama Administration’s first instinct is to deny, distract and ignore.
Congress has a duty to thoroughly investigate these misgivings and provide a check on an Administration that thinks it’s above the law. As the Chief Watchdog in Congress, it’s my job to lead that effort. Last week, I was honored to be named the Conservative of the Year for holding President Obama and his liberal allies accountable for their gross government overreach and reckless disregard for the truth.
As a 23-year-old, I am sick and tired of President Obama taking advantage of my generation. In a photo op disguised as a “youth summit” last week, Obama yet again tried to sell ObamaCare to young people. Obama proved that he’s willing to say and do anything to buy our support when he suggested that bartenders host ObamaCare Happy Hours to get people to sign up.
Really, it’s offensive. We’re not naïve… and we’re not buying his sales pitch.
We know that the success of ObamaCare depends on young people like me signing up – and paying more – for health insurance through the exchange. Obama is banking on young Americans to make his prized liberal program work. And that’s why young people are bailing on Obama in droves. It’s time Obama told young Americans the truth about why our premiums are doubling, why we’re losing our doctors, and why we might have to choose between paying for school and paying for health care.
The Republican Party says it has a remedy for Obamacare program ailments, but it apparently requires the election of more doctors to be administered properly.
No less than 11 GOP physicians are running for the Senate next year “hoping,” according to The Hill, “that voters will see their medical expertise as an asset amid the administration’s botched rollout of Obamacare.”
If elected, they would join three other GOP doctors currently serving in the chamber. Thirteen Republican doctors also currently serve in the House. By comparison, only four Democrats in the House hold medical degrees, including the delegate from the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to the American Medical Association’s Patients’ Action Network.
The ObamaCare nightmare just keeps getting worse. We’ve learned more Americans in North Carolina have lost their health coverage due to ObamaCare than were able to sign up for the program nationwide. Obama knew millions would lose their health care under ObamaCare. He admitted it in a meeting in 2010, three weeks before he signed the law. Yet, he and his liberal co-conspirators in Congress continued to lie to the Americans people for more than three of years.
And the lies just keep coming. Just the other day Nancy Pelosi claimed 500,000 people signed up for ObamaCare- five times the actual number. It’s time for Nancy Pelosi and Obama to stop trying to cover up their lies with more lies, and finally admit what Republicans have known all along: ObamaCare is unworkable, unaffordable and unfair. Every day across America, thousands of people are learning that Obama’s promise that “if you like your plan, you can keep it” was a lie. Over 4.2 million Americans have received cancellation notices from their insurance companies. That’s more than one person for every second that the ObamaCare exchanges have been online. Take a look at the map. In every state where information is available, more people are learning their plans will be cancelled than are finding new “Obama Approved” health insurance. President Obama’s on an apology tour – but the facts about ObamaCare are worse than he’ll admit. You and I know the truth: ObamaCare hurts more Americans than it helps. Over 4.2 million Americans have received cancellation notices from their insurers, while only 27,000 people have been able to enroll in the ObamaCare federal exchange.
Even former President Bill Clinton joined Republicans in calling on President Obama to honor his promise and allow Americans to keep their health care plan if they like it. Despite Obama’s lies, millions of Americans have lost their health insurance because of ObamaCare.
It’s a sad time in America when we can’t trust our president… the man we elected and entrusted to represent our best interests. As a mother and grandmother, this especially troubles me. I know all too well that the foundation of all relationships is honesty, trust and respect. Through President Obama’s repeated lies about ObamaCare, this foundation has been fractured. The trust bond has been broken. Obama’s relationship with you, the American people, has been ruined. The sad truth is: Obama knew all along that this is how his socialized health system was designed to work. I want you to know that your Republican Party is working hard to defeat ObamaCare. We’re committed to repairing the damage done by Obama. And we won’t stop fighting until the job is done.
Stand with Phil Berger, go to http://goo.gl/4IMRFQ and sign the petition. Make your voice heard. Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama want to strike down our new voter ID law. We have the right to common-sense laws in North Carolina, don’t let Washington tell us what to do.
Congress and the Obama Administration are considering new taxes and regulations on the energy industry. Raising taxes on the oil and natural gas industry could increase the cost of energy for American families and businesses. Washington D.C. must not put millions of jobs like ours at risk. With high unemployment still stifling our economic recovery, a tax proposal that threatens jobs is the wrong choice for America. This could force employers to lay off workers, reduce salaries, stop funding retirement programs or postpone investment in their businesses. Click here to sign our pledge to oppose the tax proposal!

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling.
“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. “You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election.”
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 – before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land – all because of public pressure.
Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
Congressional Reform Act of 2013
No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.
Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.
Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Don’t you think it’s time?
